IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES

Mrs. Hyde-Smith (for herself and Mr. Tuberville) introduced the
following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on
Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry

A BILL

To amend the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946 to strengthen country
of origin and method of production labeling for fish.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.

This Act may be cited as the ``Let Americans Buy with Explicit
Labeling Act'' or the ``LABEL Act''.
SEC. 2.
Section 282 (c) of the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946 (7 U.
(c) of the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946 (7 U.S.C.
1638a
(c) ) is amended by adding at the end the following:
``

(3) Labeling for fish.--In the case of a covered
commodity that is farm-raised fish or wild fish, the
information required by subsection

(a) shall be provided to
consumers by a means described in paragraph

(1) in a
conspicuous location, so as to render the information likely to
be read and understood by a consumer under normal conditions of
purchase, in a font size that is not smaller than the font size
describing the farm-raised fish or wild fish on the package,
display, holding unit, or bin.''.
SEC. 3.

This Act and the amendments made by this Act shall take effect on
the date that is 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act.
