Mr. Lee (for himself, Mr. Scott of Florida, and Mrs. Blackburn)
introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the
Committee on Armed Services

A BILL

To redesignate the Department of Defense the Department of War.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.

This Act may be cited as the ``Department of War Restoration Act of
2025''.
SEC. 2.

(a) Department of War.--The Department of Defense is hereby
redesignated the Department of War.

(b) Secretary of War.--The head of the Department of War, as
redesignated by subsection

(a) , is the Secretary of War.
(c) References.--Any reference to the Department of Defense or the
Secretary of Defense in any law, rule, regulation, certificate,
directive, instruction, or other official paper in force on the date of
enactment of this Act shall be considered to refer and apply to the
Department of War and the Secretary of War, respectively.
