Mrs. Moody introduced the following bill; which was read twice and
referred to the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions

A BILL
To revise the duties of the Office of Refugee resettlement with respect
to unaccompanied alien children, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.
This Act may be cited as the ``Stop Government Abandonment and
Placement Scandals Act of 2025'' or the ``Stop GAPS Act of 2025''.
SEC. 2.
The Secretary of Homeland Security shall amend
section 410.
(a) of title 45, Code of Federal Regulations, by striking paragraph
(6) .
SEC. 3.
The Director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement shall--
(1) track each unaccompanied alien child (as defined in
section 462
(g) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.
(g) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C.
279
(g) )) released from the custody of the Department of
Homeland Security while such unaccompanied alien child--
(A) is in the United States; and
(B) involved in ongoing immigration proceedings;
and
(2) work with States to find placements for such
unaccompanied alien children.
