Ms. Sewell, Mr. Doggett, Mr. Boyle of Pennsylvania, Mr. Suozzi, Ms.
Moore of Wisconsin, Ms. Plaskett, Ms. Chu, Mr. Neal, Mr. Evans of
Pennsylvania, Ms. Sanchez, Ms. DelBene, and Mr. Schneider) submitted
the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means

RESOLUTION

Of inquiry requesting the President and directing the Secretaries of
the Treasury and Labor to transmit, respectively, certain documents to
the House of Representatives relating to the effect on local economies
and communities of the Department of Government Efficiency and newly-
imposed tariffs.

Resolved, That the President of the United States is requested, and
the Secretaries of the Treasury and Labor are directed, to transmit, to
the extent that such documents are in the possession of the President
or the Secretaries, to the House of Representatives, not later than 14
days after the date of adoption of this resolution, copies of any
document, record, audio recording, memorandum, call log, correspondence
(electronic or otherwise), written agreements, reports, studies, or
other communication or any portion of any such communication, that
refers or relates to the following:

(1) The reduction in the local area gross domestic product
of State, regional, or local economies resulting from the mass
layoffs of Federal workers, and lease terminations, recommended
by Department of Government Efficiency (hereafter referred to
as ``DOGE''), including, but not limited to, employees of the
Internal Revenue Service and staff at local and regional Social
Security offices.

(2) The number of unemployed workers since January 20,
2025, the unemployment rate increase, the increase in
unemployment duration, the increase in the total unemployment
claims, or the impact on Federal performance measurements in
the unemployment insurance program in affected communities that
experienced reductions in force

(RIFs) , terminations of
probationary employees by DOGE, or termination of large Federal
contracts, including any such information stated separately by
State, region, or local community.

(3) The projected change in the cost of imported goods
subject to tariffs imposed on Canada, Mexico, or any other
country since January 20, 2025, including any such information
determined at the national, State, regional, or local level.
