To require the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency
and the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to implement certain
recommendations made by the Comptroller General with respect to
disaster recovery, and for other purposes.

Ms. Jacobs (for herself, Mr. Whitesides, Ms. Friedman, and Ms. Rivas)
introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on
Transportation and Infrastructure, and in addition to the Committee on
Financial Services, for a period to be subsequently determined by the
Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall
within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned

A BILL

To require the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency
and the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to implement certain
recommendations made by the Comptroller General with respect to
disaster recovery, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.

This Act may be cited as the ``The Disaster Recovery Efficiency
Act''.
SEC. 2.

The Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and
the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development shall take such actions
as may be necessary to implement the priority recommendations of the
Comptroller General of the United States contained in the report
published on November 15, 2022, and titled ``Disaster Recovery: Actions
Needed to Improve the Federal Approach'' (GAO-23-104956).
