<p>This bill provides statutory authority for Executive Order 14096, which was issued on April 26, 2023, to advance a government-wide approach to environmental justice, including by directing each federal agency to (1) make achieving environmental justice part of its mission, (2) issue an Environmental Justice Strategic Plan every four years, and (3) provide public notice of certain toxic chemical releases. The Executive Order also established the White House Office of Environmental Justice as well as an Environmental Justice Subcommittee of the National Science and Technology Council.</p>

A BILL
To codify Executive Order 14096 relating to revitalizing our Nation's
commitment to environmental justice for all.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.
Executive Order 14096 (88 Fed. Reg. 25251; relating to revitalizing
our Nation's commitment to environmental justice for all) shall have
the force and effect of law.
