A BILL
To amend the John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and
Recreation Act to permanently authorize the Every Kid Outdoors program,
and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.
This Act may be cited as the ``Every Kid Outdoors Reauthorization
Act''.
SEC. 2.
Section 9001 of the John D.
and Recreation Act (Public Law 116-9; 16 U.S.C. 6804 note) is amended--
(1) in subsection
(a)
(5) , by striking ``or home-schooled
learner 10'' and inserting ``or fifth grader or home-schooled
learner who is 10 or 11'';
(2) in the heading for subsection
(b)
(2)
(C) , by striking
``in grade four''; and
(3) in subsection
(b) , by amending paragraph
(5) to read as
follows:
``
(5) Authorization of appropriations.--There is authorized
to be appropriated for use by the Secretaries in carrying out
paragraph
(3) , $25,000,000 for each fiscal year to--
``
(A) provide operational and staff support for the
program, including coordination for the National Park
Service to provide operational and staff support in
carrying out the activities of the program;
``
(B) promote the program and distribute resources
related to the program to schools, youth-serving
organizations, parents, and caregivers;
``
(C) provide transportation services related to
the program to schools and youth-serving organizations
with the greatest financial needs; and
``
(D) launch targeted outreach related to the
program for underserved communities and children with
disabilities.''.
