Committee on Armed Services

A BILL

To require members of the Armed Forces performing active service in the
District of Columbia in response to an order of the President which
relates to crime or civil disturbance in the District of Columbia to
participate in a program substantially similar to the Body-Worn Camera
Program of the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of
Columbia.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.
IN RESPONSE TO PRESIDENTIAL ORDER ON CRIME OR CIVIL
DISTURBANCE IN DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA TO PARTICIPATE IN
PROGRAM SIMILAR TO METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT BODY-
WORN CAMERA PROGRAM.

(a) Requirement.--Each member of the Armed Forces performing active
service in the District of Columbia in response to an order of the
President which relates to crime or civil disturbance in the District
of Columbia shall participate in a program which is substantially
similar to the Body-Worn Camera Program of the Metropolitan Police
Department under the Body-Worn Camera Regulation and Reporting
Requirements Act of 2015 (
sec. 5-116.
under which the member wears a camera while performing such service.

(b) Effective Date.--Subsection

(a) shall take effect 30 days after
the date of the enactment of this Act.
