introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on
Armed Services

A BILL

To establish a military service medal to be issued to members of the
Armed Forces who served in support of operations related to the Iran-
Israel War, including Operation Midnight Hammer.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.

This Act may be cited as the ``Iranian Campaign Medal Act''.
SEC. 2.

(a) Medal Authorized.--The Secretary concerned may issue a service
medal to be known as the ``Iranian Campaign Medal'' to a person
eligible under subsection
(c) .

(b) Design.--The medal shall be of an appropriate design approved
by the Secretary of Defense and shall include ribbons, lapel pins, and
other appurtenances.
(c) Eligibility.--Subject to subsection

(e) , a person shall be
eligible for the medal if the person--

(1) served on active duty in the Armed Forces in support of
a designated operation during the Iran-Israel War (including
Operation Midnight Hammer, conducted on June 22, 2025);

(2) was deployed in an area of operations designated by the
Secretary concerned as eligible for award of the medal; or

(3) performed such other service as the Secretary concerned
may prescribe for purposes of this section.
(d) One Medal Authorized.--Not more than one medal may be awarded
to any person.

(e) Issuance to Next-of-Kin.--If a person described in subsection
(c) is deceased, the Secretary may provide for the issuance of the
medal to the next-of-kin of that person.

(f) Regulations.--The issuance of a medal under this section shall
be subject to such regulations as the Secretaries concerned shall
prescribe for purposes of this section. The Secretary of Defense shall
ensure that any regulations prescribed under this subsection are
uniform to the extent practicable.
