A BILL
To amend title 18, United States Code, to require a gun lock to be
provided to every firearm purchaser.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.
This Act may be cited as the ``Safe Storage Saves Lives Act''.
SEC. 2.
FIREARM PURCHASER.
Section 922
(z) of title 18, United States Code, is amended--
(1) by striking ``handgun'' each place it appears and
inserting ``firearm'';
(2) in paragraph
(1) --
(A) by striking ``licensed importer, licensed
manufacturer, or licensed dealer'' and inserting
``person'';
(B) by striking ``person other than any person
licensed under this chapter'' and inserting ``other
person''; and
(C) by striking ``for that'' and inserting
``compatible with the''; and
(3) in paragraph
(2)
(D) , by striking ``licensed
manufacturer, licensed importer, or licensed dealer'' and
inserting ``transferor''.

lock available for every firearm offered for sale.
