<p><strong>Prevent Tariff Abuse Act</strong></p><p>This bill prohibits the President from exercising authorities under the&nbsp;International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to impose duties, tariff-rate quotas, or other quotas on imports entering the United States. following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs,
and in addition to the Committee on Ways and Means, for a period to be
subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration
of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee
concerned

A BILL

To exclude the imposition of duties and import quotas from the
authorities provided to the President under the International Emergency
Economic Powers Act.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.

This Act may be cited as the ``Prevent Tariff Abuse Act''.
SEC. 2.
PRESIDENTIAL AUTHORITIES UNDER THE INTERNATIONAL
EMERGENCY ECONOMIC POWERS ACT.
Section 203 of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.
U.S.C. 1702) is amended--

(1) by redesignating subsection
(c) as subsection
(d) ; and

(2) by inserting after subsection

(b) the following:
``
(c) The authority granted to the President by this section does
not include the authority to impose duties, tariff-rate quotas, or
other quotas on articles entering the United States.''.
