A BILL
To prohibit certain persons from purchasing real estate in the United
States.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.
This Act may be cited as the ``American Land and Property
Protection Act''.
SEC. 2.
LOCATED IN THE UNITED STATES BY NATIONALS OF THE PEOPLE'S
REPUBLIC OF CHINA, THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION, NORTH KOREA,
IRAN, AND OTHER FOREIGN ADVERSARIES.
(a) In General.--Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the
President shall take such actions as may be necessary to prohibit the
purchase of public or private real estate located in the United States
by nonresident aliens, foreign businesses, an agent, trustee, or
fiduciary associated with the Government of the People's Republic of
China, the Government of the Russian Federation, the Government of
North Korea, the Government of Iran, and the governments of other
foreign adversaries.
(b)
REPUBLIC OF CHINA, THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION, NORTH KOREA,
IRAN, AND OTHER FOREIGN ADVERSARIES.
(a) In General.--Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the
President shall take such actions as may be necessary to prohibit the
purchase of public or private real estate located in the United States
by nonresident aliens, foreign businesses, an agent, trustee, or
fiduciary associated with the Government of the People's Republic of
China, the Government of the Russian Federation, the Government of
North Korea, the Government of Iran, and the governments of other
foreign adversaries.
(b)
=== Definitions. ===
-In this section--
(1) the term ``foreign adversary'' includes--
(A) the People's Republic of China, including the
Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and excluding
Taiwan;
(B) the Republic of Cuba;
(C) the Islamic Republic of Iran;
(D) the Democratic People's Republic of Korea;
(E) the Russian Federation;
(F) Venezuelan politician Nicolas Maduro; and
(G) any organization designated as a foreign
terrorist organization by the Secretary of State
pursuant to
section 219 of the Immigration and
Nationality Act (8 U.
Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1189); and
(2) the term ``United States'' means the several States,
the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the
Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa,
Guam, the United States Virgin Islands, and any other territory
or possession of the United States.
