which was referred to the Committee on Small Business

A BILL
To amend the Small Business Act to modify application deadlines and
communication requirements for certain disaster assistance, and for
other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTAIN DISASTER ASSISTANCE.
Section 7
(b) of the Small Business Act (15 U.
(b) of the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. 636
(b) ) is
amended--
(1) in paragraph
(4) --
(A) in subparagraph
(A) --
(i) by striking ``correspond with
application deadlines'' and inserting ``end on
the date that is 60 days after any application
deadlines that are''; and
(ii) by striking ``, or as'' and inserting
``or that are'';
(B) by adding at the end the following new
subparagraphs:
``
(C) Late applications.--The Administrator may
accept an application for disaster relief relating to a
major disaster under this paragraph at any time after
the deadline in subparagraph
(A) if the applicant
demonstrates good cause for the late submission.''; and
(C) in subparagraph
(B) , in the matter preceding
clause
(i) , by striking ``and the Committee on Small
Business of the House of Representatives'' and
inserting ``, the Committee on Small Business of the
House of Representatives, and each office of a Member
of Congress that represents a district in which a major
disaster has occurred''; and
(2) in paragraph
(5) , in the matter preceding subparagraph
(A) , by inserting ``and to communicate to each office of a
Member of Congress that represents a district in which a major
disaster has occurred,'' after ``web-based outlets,''.
