To direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to adjust certain
training requirements for certified nursing assistants in nursing
facilities and skilled nursing facilities.

Mr. Van Orden introduced the following bill; which was referred to the
Committee on Ways and Means, and in addition to the Committee on Energy
and Commerce, for a period to be subsequently determined by the
Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall
within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned

A BILL

To direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to adjust certain
training requirements for certified nursing assistants in nursing
facilities and skilled nursing facilities.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.

This Act may be cited as the ``Certified Nursing Assistant
Workforce Improvement Act''.
SEC. 2.
ASSISTANTS IN NURSING FACILITIES AND SKILLED NURSING
FACILITIES.

Not later than 1 year after the date of the enactment of this
section, the Secretary of Health and Human Services shall revise
section 483.

that, for purposes of the training requirements applicable to nurse
aides pursuant to
section 1819 (f) (2) of the Social Security Act (42 U.

provision of long term care facility services.
