A BILL
To give the Federal Trade Commission authority over certain tax-exempt
organizations.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.
This Act may be cited as the ``Combatting Hospital Monopolies
Act''.
SEC. 2.
ORGANIZATIONS.
Section 4 of the Federal Trade Commission Act (15 U.
amended, in the undesignated paragraph relating to the definition of
the term ``Corporation''--
(1) by striking ``, and any'' and inserting ``, any''; and
(2) by inserting before the period at the end the
following: ``, and any hospital organization or cooperative
hospital service organization that is described in
the term ``Corporation''--
