Mr. Espaillat (for himself, Mr. Bresnahan, Ms. Adams, Mr. Miller of
Ohio, and Mr. Bacon) introduced the following bill; which was referred
to the Committee on Agriculture

A BILL

To amend the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 to exempt workforce
training dollars as income for supplemental nutrition assistance
program beneficiaries.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.

This Act may be cited as the ``Training and Nutrition Stability
Act''.
SEC. 2.
Section 5 of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (7 U.
amended by striking subsection
(l) .
SEC. 3.
Section 5 (d) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (7 U.
(d) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (7 U.S.C.
2014
(d) ) is amended--

(1) in paragraph

(18) by striking ``and'' at the end,

(2) in paragraph

(19) by striking the period at the end and
inserting ``; and'', and

(3) by adding at the end the following:
``

(20) Income a household member receives from allowances,
earning, and payments to household members participating in any
program defined in
section 6 (o) (1) , any program established under

(o)

(1) , any program established
under
section 6 (d) (4) , any vocational rehabilitation program established and defined under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and any refugee employment program established and defined under

section 412 (c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
