A BILL
To amend title 10, United States Code, to provide for concurrent
receipt of veterans' disability compensation and retired pay for
disability retirees with combat-related disabilities, and for other
purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1.
This Act may be cited as the ``Major Richard Star Act''.
SEC. 2.
DISABILITIES FOR CONCURRENT RECEIPT OF VETERANS'
DISABILITY COMPENSATION AND RETIRED PAY.
(a) Concurrent Receipt in Connection With CRSC.--

Section 1413a
(b)
(3) of title 10, United States Code, is amended--
(1) in subparagraph
(A) --
(A) by striking ``of this title, the amount'' and
inserting ``of this title--
``
(i) the retired pay of the retiree is not
subject to reduction under sections 5304 and
5305 of title 38; and
``
(ii) the amount''; and
(B) by striking ``after any such reduction under
sections 5304 and 5305 of title 38''; and
(2) in subparagraph
(B) --
(A) by striking ``creditable service, the amount''
and inserting the following: ``creditable service--
``
(i) the retired pay of the retiree is not
subject to reduction under sections 5304 and
5305 of title 38; and
``
(ii) the amount''; and
(B) by striking ``after any such reduction under
sections 5304 and 5305 of title 38''.
(b)
(3) of title 10, United States Code, is amended--
(1) in subparagraph
(A) --

title) is entitled to be paid both for that month without regard to
sections 5304 and 5305 of title 38.
